Summer 2007

June 14, 2007

Hello again and best wishes for a great summer. I’ve had a very busy winter with shows and voice workshops in Halifax, Mont Tremblant, New York, Maine, Ireland and here at home on Prince Edward Island. I offered weekly classes in Sound Yoga. Classes will resume again in the fall. I’ve also been working hard on my jazz guitar and really enjoy being able to do a solo show. The highlight was playing Kate Kearney’s Cottage, a famous pub in the Gap of Dunloe in County Kerry Ireland. Playing solo allows me to weave freely between jazz and Celtic music.

A big thank you to the many people who organized my tours and helped out in a host of ways. I plan to return to New England in the fall and Ireland next spring. This summer I have shows at Hugh’s Room in Toronto on June 21, The wHy in Charlottetown June 30, Kier Gallery in Charlottetown on July 1, Orwell Corner July 8, Vernon River Church July 22 and Trailside Café August 17.

I will be spending most of the summer at our beachfront artist retreat. Check out the Rock Barra Retreat section for a complete schedule of activities. This summer we plan to complete a meditation trail in our woods and we will be building several new additions to our Sound Sculpture Garden. This project was a great success last year. Plans for this year include building a ‘singing dome’ and stringing a dory to create an instrument from a boat. The public is invited to attend one of our open houses during the summer. To get involved with the construction contact us by email. You can see pictures from last year on our gallery page.

Enjoy your summer and I hope to see some of you at the beach.

Cheers,
Teresa
