Late Summer shows with Teresa Doyle and October Browne

August 15, 2013

Hello Folks,

Well here were are in the dog days of summer. It’s been fabulous. I kicked off the summer with Song Road’s CD launch at Trailside Café with my friend and producer, Jaron Freeman-Fox. The album has been getting great reviews and lots of airplay! Folks are loving Jaron’s production. Stan Fest was sunny and stunning, my garden is lush and bountiful, and my buddy October Browne is here for her annual summer tour in the Maritimes. We’ve just returned from The Lunenburg Folk Festival where we were on stage 10 times. What an amazing festival. Thank you, Lunenburg.

I want to tell you about a few final summer events: Sat August 17th at 7:30 in concert at Olde Belle River Church with October, Sunday August 18th at 7:30, again with October at Rock Barra Artist Retreat. On Weds August 21 I’ll be performing in the opening concert of the P.E.I. Jazz Festival with a quintette of the island’s finest jazz musicians. I am sharing the bill with pianist Max Keenlyside and guitar wizard Ian Toms. The concert is at St. Paul’s Church on Weds evening. Finally, I play solo at MacPhail Homestead on Weds August 28th at 1:30. Whew!!

In September you’ll find me in the garden. Thank you, Mae Moore, for the heritage seeds. This is my best garden in many a year. After the harvest I’ll be busier than a one armed paper hanger with shows in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, The Yukon and Calgary in October and November. I hope to see some of you enroute.

Enjoy the rest of the summer. If you are on the island be sure to drop by Rock Barra Artist Retreat. I’ll be on the beach!!

Cheers,
Teresa
