Well the garden is planted, the posters are made and summer is in full swing here on the island. It’s going to be a busy one! My season starts tonight at the first ever Atlantic Canadian Tionel in concert at BarNone in Rose Valley, PEI. Well we survived the winter, it was a tough one with fully 17 feet of snow! Climate change has not been kind to us. I managed to miss a chunk of it thankfully. Much like country music queen Dolly Parton, Teresa Doyle likes singing story songs. And is darned good at it. The stories here are drawn mostly from her native Canada and its Celtic traditions, celebrated on a couple of traditional numbers, ‘A Chuachag Nam Beann’ (a waulking song from the Outer Hebrides) and ‘Caoineath Mhuire’ (an Irish keening song). My son Patrick and I heading to Victoria, B.C. in late January. We are special guests with the 300 member Getting Higher Choir. My son Patrick and I are back from a wonderful Yukon tour. A big shout out to all the folks who hosted us and came to our shows. We can’t wait to go back! We are home now for a while.
