Harmonizing Art & Nature: A Retreat of Healing and Creativity with Louisa Lamothe and Hailey Hennessey
Join us for our Healing Arts Retreat at Rock Barra’s Artist Retreat, where you’ll be led by Cree Elder and Professional Art Therapist, Louisa Lamothe, alongside Teacher and Artist, Hailey Hennessey. Immerse yourself in an art-centric journey centered around the four sacred medicines: sage, tobacco, cedar, and sweetgrass, along with other locally sourced plant medicines, such as lavender and mugwort. Through artistic expression, delve into the profound teachings of these medicines, connecting with the land and uncovering your own creative offerings. Guided sessions will include fiber art, painting, and more, welcoming all gender expressions, ages, and artistic levels. Your expression of self is the ultimate medicine.

Yoga For Your Mental Health Journey with Beth Robertson
Building on research that demonstrates the powerful therapeutic and somatic benefits of yoga for those who experience or have experienced depression, anxiety and trauma, this workshop endeavours to rediscover a sense of safety, awareness and self-affirmation within one’s own body and breath. Utilizing a combination of breathwork, rhythmic movements, core strengthening and loving kindness meditation practices, this workshop will help participants rediscover a greater sense of bodily connection and calm within themselves that will support them on their healing journey, wherever they may be.

Introduction to Contact Improvisation with Michael Phillips
In this workshop we will begin by dropping into our bodies with contact inspired warm-ups. We will then introduce and practice the fundamentals of contact with partner work. Once we have spent some time with the material, we will open up the space for a jam session where we can practice our new skills and explore the dance. All levels of experience welcome.

Directions
Take highway #16 east from St Peter’s. When you enter the district of Rock Barra watch for Big Pond road on the left. Go down Big Pond Road for a kilometer. The Road turns sharply to the left. Do not go left. Continue straight and take the second driveway on the left #211. If you are traveling from Souris take the Souris Line Road to hwy #16, turn right, travel two kilometers and watch for the Big Pond Road going down to the shore.
